Mark Westlake
Chief Revenue Officer, TechMediaNetwork
Mark Westlake is the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and part of the executive management team for TechMediaNetwork, a vertically integrated content publisher of owned and operated tech sites and one of the fastest growing web properties on the web. Westlake is responsible for global revenue for the company.
Prior to TechMediaNetwork, Westlake was the EVP Sales & Content for Howstuffworks.com. He was responsible for overseeing global revenue and content for the company. The company was sold in December 2008 to Discovery Communications for $250 million.
Preceding Howstuffworks.com, Westlake oversaw the sales, marketing and ad operations for About.com, a division of The New York Times Company. He was also part of the executive management team at About that sold the company to The New York Times Company for $410 million in February 2005.
Previous to joining About, Westlake held senior sales management positions at a variety of interactive companies and proved instrumental in launching a number of dynamic start-ups, including Juno (United Online), AutoTrader.com, CIMedia, Gamesville (a part of the Lycos Network), ETOnline, The Sportingnews.com and Tribune Interactive.
Westlake is actively engaged in the online industry. He is a member of the advisory board for the Seller Summits run by Upstream Group and a founding member, former board of director and finance committee member for 212, an interactive advertising association serving the metro New York interactive ad community. Additionally, Westlake sits on the advisory board for the USA Triathlon Association.
Mark is a graduate of Seton Hall University and lives on Long Island with his wife and 5 children. He is also a passionate contributor to community-based organizations and the local sports leagues.
